Parent & Family Involvement
You are your child's first and most important teacher.
Westminster Public Schools recognizes that parents/families are the child's first and most influential teachers. Parents are diverse in culture, language and needs. They share the school's commitment to the educational success of their children. A child's education is shared by the school, family and community during the entire period the child spends in school.
Reading to children, serving as guest speakers, assisting with PTA and serving on improvement committees are a few of the volunteer opportunities that await in WPS. With 18 schools and several service facilities, Westminster Public Schools appreciates the valuable time parents donate to building brighter futures for our students.
In addition to the resources found on this site, parents are encouraged to contact their child's teachers and school office for more information on volunteering.

Flynn PTO
At Flynn, fostering a vibrant community spirit is at the heart of our ethos. Central to this is our active Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), which plays a pivotal role in connecting families and the school. The PTO organizes engaging events like family skate nights, creating enjoyable experiences for all. Additionally, we encourage family involvement throughout the school year, offering various opportunities for parents and guardians to volunteer. Whether it's assisting in classrooms, supervising recess, or participating in field trips, this involvement is key to enriching the educational environment and strengthening our community bond.
The Flynn PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) meets the second Wednesday of the month at 4:00 pm in the Flynn Library. All parents of Flynn students are welcome to attend! Babysitting and Spanish interpreter services are provided. Questions? Email Carrie Strand at cstrand@wps.org.
