Flynn Academy received a generous donation from the WPS Foundation for the 2024-2025 school year, allowing us to purchase a class set of keyboard pianos! Students have been enjoying these pianos during middle school piano class, modern band units, and lunchtime practice sessions, bringing music into every part of the school day.

On October 22, 2024, 27 middle school students participated in the districtwide combined orchestra at the WPS District Showcase. The theme, "Massive Monster and Mariachi Music Masquerade," allowed Flynn students to showcase their talents on piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, and rhythm instruments in a spectacular musical event.

Level 8 students in Ms. Leja’s homeroom took a field trip to Westminster High School’s Winter Spectacular in December. Students enjoyed performances from mariachi, orchestra, band, jazz, choir, dance, and drama, getting a firsthand look at high school talent in action.

21 of our very own musicians in levels 4-8 were accepted into the 2025 WAVE district honor choir! These students auditioned and were selected to represent Flynn in the ensemble of 120 students from 14 different schools. 

In January, Level 1 students took a field trip to see the musical Lyle the Crocodile at the Arvada Center. Dressed up for the occasion, students enjoyed the performance and even had the chance to meet some of the talented actors behind the show!
